A message I tried to send in my outbox shows "message cannot be displayed",
and also cannot be deleted stating "an unknown error has occured".
Now I cannot send an other messages also as when I click send-receive it
only checks for new messages.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciate...

Glen.

I had exactly the same problem yesterday - I have a new PC with Vista loaded
and my research showed so have many many others.

The best news is however that the bug appears to be fixed in Vista SP1. I
downloaded it yesterday and the problem is fixed.

Hope this works for you.

Adrian.

Unknown errors in Windows Mail are often due to interference from an
antivirus program. What if any antivirus programs do you have?

For a temporary fix, download and install this hotfix, with Windows Mail
not running:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other folders. If you don't know whether you have a 32-bit version
of Vista or a 64-bit version, try the hotfix for the 32-bit version first.
The Vista SP1 update also contains this hotfix, but takes longer to
install.
