Outbox does not move messages when sent

About 50% of the time Outlook 2007 "Outbox" does not move messages to "Sent
Items" once they are sent. These messages may all be sending successfully,
but my only confirmation that they are sent is if and when the recipient
replies. I do believe they are all sending successfully, but I have no way
to tell. Sometimes if I am sending several messages, one at a time as I
compose them, the first 1 or 2 may move to Sent items but not any of the
others. Restarting Outlook does not resolve, but re-booting sometimes allows
additional messages sent in the "new session" to send and correctly move to
sent items, but the prevoious un-moved items will remain until I delete them.

The first thing to do is to make sure you are NOT scanning mail with an
antivirus program. If you have the mail scanning feature of your AV program
enabled, uninstall it and reinstall it without that feature. You will still
be just as protected and you eliminate a major cause of the symptom you
describe.
