does anyone know how to set up an out-of-office automatic
reply on Windows XP? Thanks
 
You have to be using outlook and exchange server to be able to use the out
of office assitant. Are you?
 
This functionity is only available with Microsoft Outlook and when Outlook
is connecting to a Microsoft Exchange Server.

Please ask the Outlook gurus in the Outlook Newgroups..

That would depend entirely upon the capabilities of your specific
email client software or the email server to which you connect.
Nothing to do with WinXP, per se.
