Oulook 2007 and two computers XP and Vista

Ok I am sure this is a strange scenario but please bear with me.

I have a windows XP pro desk top in my one office I have 4 locations I will be
working from. all 4 locations will be connected to the same domain.

I also have a laptop running windows Vista Business that I will be using to
connect when I am in the remote offices and I found out to my dismay that even
though it connects to the exchange server it changes the path to the
outlook.ost file
from the standard c:\documents and settings\username\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\

to c:\users\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\

Is there a way to stop the vista machine from changing the default path to
those files I would prefere that each machine have a copy of the same data so
no matter which computer I log in at I have access to the same mail box.

The location of the OST is immaterial. You're referencing an Exchange
account. The mailbox will contain the same data no matter which PC you use
to access it. Why do you think otherwise?

Thanks for the reply.
The reason I think otherwise is because when I sat back down at my desktop this
morning outlook would not start and looking at the properties under "Mail" in
the control panel I saw the path to the data file had been changed to
c:\users\username etc instead of the c:\documents and settings\username ect

Not quite sure how it happened but it occured directly after I connected with
the vista laptop.

That's normal for Vista. The path for the Windows user profile has changed.
In WIndows XP (and 2000), %UserProfile% is C:\Documents and
Settings\username . In Vista, it's C:\Users\username.
