Shuts down in what why? Any error messages? What is logged to the Event
Viewer?

Hi Robert,

Thanks for your interest. There is no warning. While downloading mail
(usually whilst synchronising with Hotmail) the whole sctreen just
disappears. No warning, no minimising, no nothing.

As far as event viewer is concerned, that's another ball game. I am the only
user on my laptop and therefore am set up as the adminsitrator but for some
reason I cant access the ctrl+alt+del as "The administrator has disabled this
facility".

Very recently I had a problem with my sound so did a factory reset as
advised by the supplier of the laptop. It all went very well and sorted out
the sound problem. However I got left with the Administrator thing and now
the Outlook crashing.

The only other thing I can think of concerning Outlook is that it could be a
conflict with Norton AV (it keeps reloading its toolbar into Outlook even
though I keep deleting it) or maybe since uploading IE v7 or maybe since
uploading Google Desktop.

There you have it, that's my laptop in a nutshell. Nothing else on here.

If you reached this far, thanks, and if you have any ideas they are very
welcome.

Best wishes

CTRL+ALT+DEL doesn't have to do anything with accessing the Event Viewer.
Rightclick My Computer-> Manage and check the application log in Event
Viewer for Outlook errors.

You might want to disable the entire integration of NAV with Outlook as it
is redundant anyway and is known to cause loads of issues.

I have same issue. I dont know the real answer but I have work around.

I open the outlook in safe mode (i.e. ctrl + Outlook) and download all the
messages in safe mode...it works great. Then closes outlook and re-opens
regularly and runs the rules explicitely....

thanks

Integrating an AV with Outlook doesn't provide an extra level of security as
it is the same as using an on-access scanner (default virus scanner
feature). So the default Outlook security features + an up-to-date on-access
scanner will sufice.
