OTLK 2007 visual identification of Current versus Archive folders

Is there a way to colour code the Archive folders so that you do not waste
your time working with the incorrect folders (as the folder names are
identical) .. as make their icon "red" (or some other colour) ..

No, but, on the other hand, don't open them. Or, change the top level name
of the folder so that it's obvious it's the Archive and just don't expand
it.
