Other people unable to bring up my website.

I'm a newbie with FP2003...my old html editor was notepad and it's been
a while since I used even that one.<g>

I'm not sure if the following is a FP issue or not (something tells me
it's not), but, to make a long story short...

After working on a new website off-and-on for a couple of weeks I
finally published it at godaddy.com. The website is
http://www.welchtire.com . I have had no problems browsing the page
with IE from work or from home. I worked on the website a bit more and
then I mentioned it to a couple of friends so they could check it out
and give me some feedback on it. Problem is...neither of them can
access the website. All they get is a "page not found". I know one
person is using IE and feel pretty sure the other person is, also. I
had one of them on the phone this afternoon and we both tried accessing
the website...I was successful, my friend wasn't.

At first I thought I might have a problem and be using cached files to
bring up the site, but I had a bad crash at the house and have since
basically wiped the hard drive and reinstalled the operating system so
any saved files should be gone.

The site is a small one that I'm trying to put together for my tire
business. If anybody wants to try the link and give me some feedback
or info on what the problem is or might be I would really apprecaite
it! Oh, and don't expect to see an award-winning design if you are
able to pull it up. :)

Thanks!

Interesting, Tom. I just went to godaddy and checked my name servers.
They were set for "Custom name servers" and showed a
"park23.secureserver.net", etc., . Godaddy's instructions are that if
you're hosting with them to select "Default" which I did and which
changed the name servers to ns3.secureserver.net and
ns4.secureserver.net. It says that it could take up to 48 hours for
the change to take place so I don't think it affected what you managed
to bring up.

I'm definitely ignorant on DNS addresses and a lot of stuff I don't
even no about to mention. But could the fact that I had name servers
checked for "custom" and some "parked?" nameservers listed in the
fields cause folks from one area not to be able to access the website
while other folks (like yourself) be able to access it?

Thanks again!!!

I see it fine... but I also see blinking text which isn't fine ... looks
amateurish. Also can't read the shop's title in blue on top of the tires.

Howdy Eleanor, thanks for the feedback.

I agree with you 100% about the title being hard to read. I'm trying
to figure out how (which program) to set up an outlined font to help
with the separation of title and background. My home computer is
band-aided together presently, but when I get the new one set up I'll
be pursuing that issue.

Regarding the blinking text...I had no intention of using any and
didn't know I had. I just went over the main pages (didn't check the
individual tire data sheets) and couldn't find the blinking text.
Would you be so kind to point me in it's direction? Thanks!

The blinking text is at the top of the box that frames the page. The
words "Under Construction" appear at the left, center and right top, in
yellow, and they blink.

Ok, I pulled the website up in IE 6.0 and still couldn't see the
blinking of the "Under Construction" notice. I went into FP and used
the split screen and saw where I *had* inserted the blink tag. I've
removed it now, but still wonder why I couldn't see it before. ????
