OT: very wiered Virus / Malware / Adware Media Access??? very frustrating please help

hi guys,

I am really sick of this Media Access thing. It makes my system start up
very slow.
Mediaacess.exe .... and MediaAccK.exe ...

The fun part is that i have multiple antivirus and antispyware including
AVG, Avast, Micrsoft
Anti spyware, Startup control (monitors control), Spybot, Advanced
uninstaller with startup control.
and none of them manage to remove it.

Startup monitor prompts message that: c:\programm files\media
access\mediaacck.exe registered
to system start up similarly Spybot and I press NOT ALLOW similarly Spybot
DENIES REGISTRY CHANGE.
I phyisically go to Regedit and remove the Keys, surprisingly the folder
c:\programm files\media access\mediaacck.exe
doesn't exist at all. However just by removing it from registery it installs
it self again. And i again receive the same prompts
from Startup monitor and Spybot.

How this happens????
How it registers it self again n again?
Has anyone else had this issue?
How can i block the registry key not allow this virus to install?

any comments will be appreciated

A freeware version of CWShredder has been reported to be successful at
removing Mediaaccess.exe etc. Hope this helps.

Might help if you switch off System restore function, do you clean up, then
restart Sys restore. All best carried out in `Safe` mode. bw..J

It's a very sophisticated hijack. You should consider using a more
secure browser.

I've heard that CWShredder will remove it:

http://www.intermute.com/spysubtract/cwshredder_download.html

Click on "Download stand-alone version of CWSShredder". If you dig
around that site, they mention that it's freeware. Their SpySubtract
PRO is not freeware, however.

Make sure that you click "Fix" and not "Scan only".

I had it, too. MS Anti-spy didn't catch all of it. The new version (free
for home use) of Adaware (1.06) caught it on deep scan and removed it.
