OT: slightly - opening internet webpage

P

Paul

I am trying to open a web page using Internet explorer using ONE shortcut.
My default browser is Opera but the webpage I want will only work in IE. So
the shortcut I want is something like this
file://localhost/c:/Program Files/Internet Explorer/IEXPLORE.EXE http://etc
etc.com/
But it does not work
Anyone know the correct syntax
And thanks in advance
Paul

I'm assuming that by "shortcut" you mean a shortcut file and not a
bookmark/favourite entry in a browser.

Create a shortcut to IEXPLORE.EXE on your Desktop.
Rename the shortcut to something sensible. Or silly.
Right-click the shortcut and click on "Properties".
In the "Target" field, add a space and then the URL to the end of the text.
Do not put the URL inside the quote marks.
Click "OK".
Open shortcut to your heart's content :)

Can you do it by getting Opera to identify itself as IE?

Tools>Preferences>Advanced>Network>Browser Identification
