OT: Selection of WD LCD monitor

Nowadays, lots of wide screen LCDs are seen in ads.
So I am tempted to buy one.
One is Samsung 1680 x 1050 wide screen LCD.
My question is how to figure out whether the LCD fits to my computer (video
card).

Start > Control Panel > Display > Settings (tab) > Advanced > Adaptor (tab)

List All Modes

If the new LCD's resolution and refresh rate (60Hz or more for LCDs) is
listed there, then you're set.

Thank you. The list by my computer did not show whether the resolution is
for the regular box or wide screen monitor. I am interested in whether my
video accepts wide screen LCD or not. Roman

Hello,

The resolutions in that list are for both widescreen and regular (standard)
resolution.

I just bought a wide screen for my 8 year old P3 with a 32 meg video
card.
The new LCD works great.
