OT: DirectX vs. Open GL

My computer and a wide screen LCD monitor are connected by DVI cable.
When checked, my computer is installed with Direct X 9.0C.
When I tried to run Google Earth, it does not allow to open by Direct X but
only by Open GL.
I wonder what is the problem. OS is WinXP Pro SP2. Roman

OpenGL support is entirely a function of the video card drivers, and
not the OS. Contact the manufacturer of your video card to obtain the
most recent WinXP-specific drivers.
