[OT] Problem searching these newsgroups with Google

F

Fred Boer

Hi all:

Sorry for the off-topic post, but...

Tonight I noticed in a post that Tony Toews mentioned that Google has messed
up groups searching... I've been using the Advanced Search feature of Google
Groups to search through these microsoft access groups for years. It's an
essential source of help for me. But lately I have found that even if I try
to limit the search to the microsoft groups, I get all kinds of stuff from
everywhere, most of it useless. Is that what you are talking about, Tony?
Does anyone have more info? A way to get it to work "the old fashioned way"?

Thanks!

Lately, Google has really been losing touch with what made them great.

not really, I haven't had any problems (other than stalkers using my
IP information illegally) with google and I use it all the time

I think that it's Microsoft that's dying a quick death, because they
don't care about software quality / performance / stability /
scalability

If you feel we are using your IP information illegally then feel free
to complain to your local police service.

Then please start using a product that works on Linux.

I mean to reply earlier. I've blogged about this in the past.

The good news is that Google just fixed this problem in the last week
or so.
