Hello!
I'm getting desperate. In the various , 'Computer Hardware', groups
I'm getting answers that don't fit my questions. So, here I am in a
non-hardware group, hoping for a clue.

I conjoined two PC's on my desk, using a USB Cable Link, so that I may
swap files between the two PC's. I verified that both USB ports are
working, and that theconnections are snug.

I loaded the Software drivers properly to PC #1; the Windows
Explorer-type page shows up on the desktop for that PC, and the
program's Icon also shows on the desktop .. Apparently, everything has
been done properly.

I do the identicl for PC #2, and it appears that everything was set up
properly for that PC as well. Now all I need to do is bring them
together. Sure!

When I boot up both PC's, however, together or one at a time, A page
comes up on the desk top showing LOCAL on the left side with all the
files from the hard drives, and REMOTE on the right side, but
everything is greyed out, preventing a transfer .

How do I get both PC's active on that one page so I can start swapping
files back and forth. I don't see how a VGA switcher would help.
Possibly? I noticed when I loaded the drivers, NetMeeting popped up
in C:\PROGRAM FILES. Is that relative to my problem ? I never
noticed them there before. I'd really like to get this going, There was
no manual included, but on their website, their online manual might
just as well have been written in Lithuanian. Just made no sense to
this almost 80 year old brain! I "THINK" the problem lies with the
ability, or inability, to boot and bring up both PC's at the same
time. One seems to become the dominant and becomes the LOCAL, and the
REMOTE is always greyed out, regardless of which I boot up first.

Thanks for even a little hint, a clue, or maybe a just little sympathy
for my frustration. .

Once both machines are booted up - unplug either end of the cable - then
plug it back in...
