I love shopping for computer parts online, except at the rare time
when I need to cancel an order.
After a long search and research for a new video card, Saturday
evening I whipped out my VISA check card and ordered from
Comp-U-Plus (first time order).
The money was withdrawn from my bank account faster than I could get
to my bank's web page. Also immediately an e-mail confirmation thank
you notice with my complete order details was sent to me from
Comp-U-Plus.
Comp-U-Plus was satisfied.
Then I noticed that a fellow USENET user had posted a message about
a better product for the same money at Newegg.
Oh no!
I looked around for a while, becoming unpleasantly satisfied that in
fact it was a better card for the same price. Since the day was
still Saturday and there was no way for Comp-U-Plus to ship my order
until Monday, I went back to cancel the order.
After trying to cancel, the only indication that my order was in
fact canceled was a single short line of text on a cluttered web
page. No account or order information was given. No e-mail
confirmation was sent.
The merchandise hasn't been shipped. Why so difficult to put the
money back into the account it came from?
Anybody have 200 bucks to lend?
