OT? MSN Mail

Anyone with 'MSN.com' email.
Since early yesterday evening I have not been able to receive mail to my
MSN.com address.
I can send from this address. I can send and receive both from my local
ISP mail.
I get the black cross and then the message that the server has
unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes are server problems
or network problems.
This is occurring on both of my machines so I feel that it is MS server
based. It occurs whether the 2nd machine is networked or I shut the host
machine down and dial up directly from the 2nd machine.
Any comments or ideas? I did nothing that I am aware of that could lead
to my causing the problem.

The MSN/Hotmail servers have been acting up since Wednesday. Post any error
messages you're receiving. Are you accessing the account via a Mail Client
(e.g., Outlook Express)?

Reaching internet thru local ISP. Using OE 6 for mail and news. Click on
'send/receive' and get status as 'Failed'.
Error message:
"Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes
for this include server problems, network problems or a long period of
inactivitity. Account: pop3.email.msn.com. Server: pop3.email.msn.com.
Protocol POP3. Server response: +OK 239 bytes, Port 110, secure(SSL) no,
error number 0x800CCC0F."

Disable email scanning by your anti-virus application, whatever the make
(http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=813514). It provides no additional
protection.

If no joy, temporarily disable firewall and all other third-party
applications and see if doing so helps.

I have Norton SystemWorks. I disabled the Email and have now received 36
email messages.
I have had this for the past 3-4 years and never had a problem.
Either Symantec or MS had to change something. Do you have any idea who
did what?

After thinking about the solution, I came up with a new virus definition as
a possibility.
I went to Symantec's web site as I was directed. I'm running 2002 and
they no longer support that. They only had query's on 2003 and 2004.
I think that I will quiz Winston about the problem and the solution.

The problem is NAV's Email Protection. The solution is to disable it. Even
Symantec says it's not necessary:

If you've subscribed to NAV for the year, NAV 2002 is indeed supported.
