Thanks, so it is a "nothing" word :)
Here in Australia the term most commonly used is "bullshit"

It is a word used by people who wish to convey that they think they know
more than the average bear, or otherwise convey that the referred to
commentary is somewhat ambiguous. :)

O.K.

I looked at it.

But it seems to require logging in with a Windows Live Mail ID to a
"special" server.

No?

If so, why would anyone want to do that and open oneself up to all
sorts of
invasive techniques by hackers and government agents.

Do you REALLY think the General Public is so GULLIBLE?

Well, SOME folks certainly ARE. So you DO have some evidence for their
gullibility.

Microsoft even has a disclaimer that tells us the "Community Forums

that
is NOT a MS APPLICATION....

Or something of the sort...

It's Aesopian.

What is "Aesopian" ?

Someone at MS should learn to be a better MARKETER...

most people munge their address anyway. I don't even keep the Reply

If you hit reply while IN the message from a newsgroup, it ONLY
goes to the person who sent it and not the group. As far as I can
tell (and yes, I tried all the usual keypresses) is that is the
only way to respond to the group - exit the message and reply to
group from the list without opening the message.

Sucks.

Hello
I've noticed on this group (and on the XP group) that a lot of MVP's
replies
no longer appear.
For instance Winston on the WLM group and PA Bear and Shenan
Stanley on the
XP group.
Replies from them are included in further questions but I never see
there
original reply.
Have the MVP's gone to the forums.
Do I need to go to the forums to follow them.

PAB you mean work "WORK OFFLINE?" composiing emails, and responses herein??

and whatever info you eventually post may well

Has anyone managed to get their hands on that contract? It's probably not very different from the one used over at windowslivehelp.com, where the moderator antics are unbelievable. I have countless threads like this:
OP: How do I do this?
Me: Like this.
[days or weeks later]
Mod: @OP: Do what Noel said.
@noel: Thanks!
(There's no threading, so the @s are required.)
OK, that might convince the OP that the response is approved, but as few of them come back, we'll never know whether it helped - even though the mod's reply is marked as answer.

One of those responsible - Chris Jones, VP Windows Live Engineering - blogged about feedback a couple of days ago at

Not at windowslivehelp.com, there isn't. No settings at all except language and time zone - and the time zone one's broken.

Yes, idiots is the word I was looking for.....

I also see the forums support only IE and Firefox...."Others may work,

MS still can't figure how to code web sites to "standards".....here
comes that word I was looking for again....

Well, in the same way that MS sets their own standards in trying to
force people to forums instead of newsgroups. MS sets their own
standards with web standards as well. They think they are big enough
that they can set the standards and everyone will have to follow them.
