I've found newsgroup support from 'most' ISP's is poor, including
my own. Many ISPs are no longer providing NG support at all. Locate
a reliable ISP locally for local tech support, rather than a national
ISP. I picked one out of the yellow pages at $9.95/month with free
email, two years ago and have been happy with them, except for NGs.

My newsreader is set to:

nntp.aioe.org
Free, no login required, good retention for non-binary.

For binaries Google for Freebin or BigGulp.

I'll second that.

Mark, you steered me to Copper last year, on DUN, very happy with it, only
1 newsletter a month, spam filter.

For newsgroups, I've been very happy with individual.net, now $12.00
annually in US.
