OT: Graphic IDs on news posts

A long, long time ago I asked (and lost the answer to) how people get those
little pictures attached to their posts. Could someone point me to info on
this. Sorry.

You must be talking about an X-face. Your newsreader will have the
option to insert one into the identity you are using. I am not
familiar with XNews' configuration, but you should be able to find it
in the help file somewhere.

You need a 48x48 pixel drawing, translated into a string of code by
one of the X-Face programs. (I use WinFace, which is a non-install
program that does this; the .txt file that comes with explains
what you need to do.)

Once you have the code, you paste it into Special>Setup
XNews>Compose>Custom Headers.
