OT - Dell Inspiron 8100 Screen Size

My wife's computer all of a sudden changed screen size and resolution.
It was 1024x768 and changed to the highest resolution. We tried going
back to the 1024 setting but the display does not fill the screen as
before, and we get a warning that the monitor is best read at the
highest resolution. Does anyone know how to get the old resolution and
size back - we've been thru all the normal and suggested procedures
about changing resolution - monitor is SXGA 15, and the adapter is
Nvidia GE Force. According to my wife, she wasn't doing anything in
particular when the screen changed.

If by "Smaller" you mean that there is a black border
around the whole thing that can't be filled up by the
desktop, try pressing the "FN" key (next to the left
control key, it's got blue writing) and pressing F7 at the
same time.
