OT: A problem with following news in NG using Outlook Express

Hi

When in some NG several threads with same subject are started, my OE groups
them as single thread. The lesser evil is, that wrong new threads are added
to ones, I have marked to watch. Much worse is, that when p.e. at home I
wrote some answer into some thread, and then at work I search for it by my
name, it may be grouped with some earlier thread - started maybe a month
ago. There are over 10000 messages in some NG's, and it is very annoying to
search for right one amongst them.

Is such behaviour an inevitable evil when using OE, or is there some setting
I missed, which prevents OE from merging different threads with same subject
line?

Hi Arvi

if you find an answer could you let me know also please as i suffer the same
problem ... and i also find that when OE combines new threads under the
heading of old watched threads it doesn't highlight the newsgroup name to
indicate that more posts have been added to that thread (does this sentance
make any sort of sense!?!)

Cheers

I have a VIEW window on my toolbar.
I keep "PreView Panes" always in force, and size it to 1/4 of the screen.
I created a VIEW, "Watched & Unread".

First thing I do when I open a NG, is to choose the "Watched & Unread" view,
where the Preview Pane displays the appropriate headers.
I click on a header, then choose the "Show All Messages" view.
And then, if the post is merged with an older thread, it's strikingly (?)
obvious.
