'OS must be installed on a separate volume' ?

Reading instructions for a dual-boot system. KBA says that 'each OS must be
installed on a separate volume.' I was going to use Partition Magic which
would make both OS's be on C: drive, one is always hidden. Is this
considered two volumes or should I put the other OS on D:? I want one to be
hidden at all times.

Thank you,

Forget about the letter - each will see the partition that it boots from
as being C:. What is needed is that you use two separate areas
(partitions) for each system, as seen in PM's pretty graphic. Its Boot
Magic will then set up a boot instance for each of them, and you can
tell it to hide the other

Thanks all, it's working fine now. One thing I learned, you can't copy XP to
another partition, it gets real confused. I had to install it all.
