Original not quite showing markup

Me and my user are using WD2003. I've compared her Tools>Options and
File>Print settings with mine and they all seem the same, but...

She has a doc with markup and can look at it as Original+Markup or
Final+Markup and only show the balloons she wants. Print Preview shows both
views correctly, but when she prints either she only gets Final+Markup. If I
show O+M it prints O+M (clue: shows 'inserted' balloons), if I show F+M it
prints F+M (clue: shows 'deleted' balloons), and I have got her out of the
immediate hole by printing O+M on her printer from my computer. This all
suggests it's a setting somewhere but I'm danged if I can see what it is.

Please would you point me in the right direction?

Was my question so numpty that you're all disgusted with me, or was it so
difficult that I have completely flummoxed everyone?
There does not appear to be anything unusual or broken in my colleagues
setup, and her co-worker's WD2003 has the same symptoms. I'd be grateful for
any (polite) suggestions.
