I recently upgraded to win xp from 98 and in 98 i
organised my files by the date i got them. However in xp
i cant seem to do this, is there any way i can do this
because it helps me alot. thankyou

In a Window take View - Details. Then in View - Choose Details, uncheck
Date Modified and choose Date Created.

Now click in the head of the Date created column to sort on that.
(click again if you want the opposite order)

This order should be retained even if you then go back to Icon view.

Once the folder is arranged in all respects as you want to have as
default, go to its Tools - Folder Options - View, make sure that
'remember each folders view options' is checked, and click the 'Apply to
All' button at the top
