Been using beta 2 since it went into public release and I have to say,
I love it.

Any ideas when it will be RTM or Gold?

The plan is for it to be near the end of 2007. My guess is it'll be a
December release. The actual launch won't be until Feb 2008, but
that's fairly irrelevant to me :)

Btw, i know these betas are not meant for production use but would i be
able to use my beta projects and stuff with actual release? I mean, is it
safe to use current beta 2 without worrying about any conflicts with final
release.

I wouldn't expect there to be *no* changes between beta 2 and release,
but I'd say you're fairly safe. In particular, there will be "go live"
licences for beta 2.

In an official Microsoft video, a top honcho said Vs2k8 b2
- is "feature complete" (this is a verbatim quote)
- supported by Microsoft if you have a license.

MS supports the beta of VS'08? That's pretty surprising! And how can you
buy a license for a non-product?

I don't know why Vs2k8 b2 is a non-product.

Are you saying that the video is telling you that VS 2008 Beta 2 is a
*product*? That would be a first, indeed.
