Orange tasks on taskbar

What does it mean when a task on the taskbar turns orange?
Sometimes a new task will turn orange, or one will turn orange when
something is going on with that task - what is the general rule,
Spock?

Whatever was loading in that window has completed loading and is awaiting
your attention.

It means that some has happened in that app that needs your attention.
It's usually (in my experience, anyway) a dialog box that's asking for
some kind of input. Sometimes just a message box with a warning and an
OK button.
