I am a computer novice, but I just built a computer from scratch. It appears
to be successful, however, when I boot up a screen eventually comes up which
gives the option to go to either Windows XP Home Edition or to Windows XP
Setup. If you choose the XP Home Edition option, it appears to boot up
correctly with no issues. If you choose the Windows XP Set option, it comes
up with an error message something to the effect a filed called <windows
root> system32\hll.dll is either missing or corrupt. I tried identifying
this file on my Windows XP CD, and found something that resembled this file,
and copied this file to the system 32 file, but nothing changed. What do I
need to do to correct this situation and fix it where the computer boots up
correctly without having to choose either option? Thanks.
