Operation Aborted

Mike

I'm getting an error message indicating that:

IE cannot open the site http://foo.bar.com

Operation Aborted.

The page loads for maybe a second, then the error dialog,
then the page goes to a 404 message.

I can refresh the page and when it _just_ starts to load,
click STOP and it will load, although not necessarily all
of the page.

It doesn't happen on all sites, but it is consistent when
a site doesn't work.

I've tried resetting all of the settings to default.

I'm running Windows XP home, IE 6.0, connected to a cable
modem through a router. Nothing has changed except
running windows update.

I am getting the same problem. Certain sites will not
load. I have the same basic setup. It may be a dns
problem? I have another machine that works fine (although
it is a windows 2000 server).

There's a good possibility that this is being caused by a third-party
program (adware, spyware, parasite).

If this is the one get the removal tool.
