Operating System Configuration

When I click on a newly installed microsoft office application (like excel or
powerpoint) I get an error messgae that says "The operating system is not
presently configured to run this application. I am running Windows XP Home
Edition.

Thanks Bert but this did not help. Still getting the same message.

Hi,

The only other possible solution I came across was to check the disk
for errors.

1. Double-click My Computer, and then right-click the hard disk drive
that you want to check.
2. Click Properties, and then click Tools.
3. Under Error-checking, click Check Now.
3. Select both options.
5. Click Start.

It may also be necessary to rerun the repair option after the disk
check.
