Opening Windows Mail Receiving Recovered Messages

When I opened Windows Mail,
A folder was created without my help and all of a sudden I have recovered
messages that contain nothing but numbers. No Information.

Anyone have insite on this?

That's the other major problem I have, I believe my Windows Live features are
corrupted. I was very upset when I downloaded and had space and other
features I didn't want. Tried to un-install and cannot. Tried to literally
pull out folders, registries keys. Used several registry cleaners. Nothing
works.

When I try to download Windows Live, it indicates that I have all programs
on my computer. I looked through I do not, I did find Messenger working.
All I want is the Mail Program nothing else.

Any suggestions?

Gary, you have been wonderful. I really wish to Thank you for all your help.

1 more question? How can I save all my messages from multiple Emails coming
into the Live mail before I do this.

I have 4 different Email accounts coming into this, and don't want to lose
them. I noticed that when they come in they get deleted from the other email
inboxes.

Is there like a storage on my computer that saves the Emails received?

I'm not sure I understand your question. For POP accounts,
downloaded messages do get stored on your hard drive. So,
they are safe until such time as the computer or hard drive crashes.

You say, "they get deleted from the other email inboxes".
What other inboxes? Are you talking about the webmail inboxes that you
access with a browser (such as Internet Explorer)? If so:
To fix that problem, go to Tools, Accounts, select your mail account,
Properties, Advanced, select "Leave a copy of messages on server."
Repeat for any other mail accounts.

In Windows Live mail, I had Comcast mail forwarded. When I receive all
which I have set defaulted I receive my mail, but the last time I went to my
Comcast mail box. All my mail was gone. That's just one example.

Gmail I set the pop to save in all mail. That seems to work.

Sorry, I guess I didn't finish reading about the server. Where are those
files then? Who has access to them?

It keeps saying I have the features on the computer, but I know I personally
deleted them.

How can you un-install Windows Mail, and All of Windows Live features and
only install the ones you want.

I tried their un-install the essentials, I get nothing ... Won't even bring
up the screen they came comes up. It's not indicating anything to delete.

Do you have a Link to un-install Windows Mail, as it doesn't show in the
Un-Install list?

Obviulsy you mis-typed.
"Windows Mail" as an untregal pat if Vista can not be un-installed.

"Live" Mail can removed, however.

Windows Mail keeps the raw message files in the following directory:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Local Folders\...

-According to the windows mail un-install on the website, it say's in order
to get rid of the essentials to do the un-install and a procedure comes up to
follow.

I get nothing.

I tried to do the delete the folders and the keys manually and through a
registry cleaner you referred to and then I went and tried to reinstall. All
it shows after the re-install is I have all the programs. But yet I cannot
get windows live mail to function now, and as far as the other programs I
don't want the folders keep popping back up.

I tried every link that you gave me., and the programs, non of them worked
either. One of them did show something being taken out of a dos possibility.

I'm at my wits end with this!

There is no Windows Mail uninstall. Don't you mean Windows Live Mail
uninstall? Please be accurate with program names.

I have never recommended a registry cleaner to anyone, so I don't
know where you are getting that from.

Go to Control Panel, Programs and Features, click on
Windows Live Essentials. It will then give you both a Repair option
and a Uninstall option. Try the Repair option.
If it still doesn't work, you may have to reinstall Vista.

I finally have the Windows Live Mail, I am happy with that. I'm not sure
about the other features, the last time I clicked on one of the execution
files. I got into something I don't want. Obviously one of the essentials.
That's what started this.

As far as Windows Mail, I see no reason to have both. That's why I was
wondering how to delete it from the computer or un-install it. I see nothing
to un-install Windows Mail or any of the other features like windows photos,
etc.

As far as deleting the folders, it will not let you, and that is why I
believe the windows mail got corrupted.

As far as Windows Live mail, When I followed all of the above, some said it
doesn't pertain to my system (Vista). Something didn't work because I
couldn't re-install without it coming back with all the programs already
installed. After I used the advanced care System registry cleaner, it pulled
alot of files that weren't deleted, and alot of registry keys that were
missed.

Then I rebooted and check everything again. Rebooted and re-installed, and
it said the same thing. So now I just restored from a previous backup, and
have my Windows Live mail, but fear the rest.

I do not have my startup files that were originally downloaded, nor do I
have any icons besides the one I saved to the desktop.

How can I bring the programs back to the start menu. I'm not sure of which
execution files are for what, and don't want to get the blog or space, etc.
