opening unrecognized programs

I have a problem trying to open some files. Every time i
try windows tells me that it needs to know what program
created the file and gives me 2 options, using the web or
search for a program. I choose use the web and windows
goes to shell.windows.com and I get a an error page that
tells me that I may not be authorized to view this web
site or that it may be misspelled. I am trying to open
an update file that is flash824c and windows cannot open
it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Please repost with more information - where did you get the flash824c
file and what are you hoping to do with it? If this is a BIOS flash,
then this is not how you use it. If you are trying to flash your BIOS,
I do not want to hurt your feelings but if you do this incorrectly you
will have a doorstop. Please do repost so we can give you more help.
