Whenever I try to open a .txt file from my c: drive in notepad, my pc tries
to access the floppy drive. Does anyone know why and how to fix it?

Thanks,
Bob

I double click the txt file in windows explorer.

How do you open it?

I found the fix. Google is amazing!

Windows tries to access the floppy drive when it starts or when I launch an
application.
To prevent this, try the following steps. Check your system for viruses.
Delete the contents of the Recent subfolder of Windows. Go to Start*Run and
type regedit.exe to access the Registry Editor. Open
Hkey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Currentversion\Explorer. Now
select the folder RunMRU and delete all the values except Default.
Open Control Panel, double-click System, select Device Manager, expand Disk
Drives and delete the Generic floppy disk entry then restart Windows.
