opening ports

i have a web server that runs on your computer and uses
your ip as a web adrress only 1 problem when i ran it i
asked 1 of my freinds to go on it he got page not found i
closed my firewall it stil dident work so how do i open
ports on my xp computer

If your friend could not access your computer when the firewall is switched
off, then i would suggest the problem is not with your computer but might be
with your ISP not allowing you to operate a web server - check their
conditions of use to see if they disallow this and if they do then the odds
are they are blocking it.
 
you need to set up port forwarding.
