I am using Win XP Pro with SP2 fully updated and using SP2 firewall. I am
the only user on this computer. I also have a D-link DI-614+ router that is
hard wired (not wireless).

I am trying to get a special program (Torrent) to work that requires setting
up the router and my computer to make this program work.

I have setup the router to look at specific ports and then installed
Torrent. Torrent can check the port needed to make sure it is open on my
computer and the port is NOT open.

I need to know how to open this port on my computer. I go to the Control
Panel then Network Connections. There I see only one icon, Local Area
Connection. I right-click and select properties and this where I get lost.
How do I proceed from this point to open the port needed?

Help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

You're probably going to have to set up port forwarding in the router.
Here's a site on your router.

Thank bud for the reply and I was going fine until I realized that my
computer (isp) uses a dynamic IP. I called my isp and asked about using a
static IP, and for an extra $10/mo they will do that. Aren't they nice. I
don't think it is quick worth that LOL.

Thanks for the help
