Opening Outlook

I

Ian Gordon

Recently when opening Outlook, I have received the
following three messages.

1) Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Unable to display the
selected folder or item. Could not complete the operation.
One or more parameter values are not valid.

2) Unable to open your default mail folders. The DLL files
for the information service could not be found. MAPI was
unable to load the information service PSTPRX.DLL Be sure
the service is correctly installed and configured.

3) Unable to start processing services...Dll files could
not be found.

I noticed this problem after completing a hot sync with my
Palm pilot. I have been unable to view my email or
contacts for the past several days.

Any advice on how to help would be much appreciated.

Best,
Ian

Dear Milly,

Thanks for your help. In fact I had already installed the
new service pack, which is suggested by your link, before
posting this message. I did follow another of its
suggestions to create a new email account in Outlook.
After doing this, I was able to open Outlook with no
problem, and pull my email off my web account.

The only problem now is that I am unable to find all of my
old contacts, and emails that were saved under the old
account before Outlook stopped working. I attempted to
Hot Sync my contacts from my Palm Pilot but this also has
not worked.

Can you please advise the best way, if any, to retrieve
these contacts & emails?

Thanks for your input.

Best,
Ian
