opening old PPP in 2007 version

Hi,
Did anyone experienced problems with opening presentations made in earlier
versions (1997) in 2007 version?

When I want to open a presentation I get the message: PowerPoint cannot open
the type of file represented by ..... N.PPT. But I know the presentation is
made in Power point! I could easily open the presentation with 2003 version.
Is there any other ways than installing 2003 version?
