Is anyone having trouble playing midi files in PowerPoint 2007?

These files worked ok in earlier versions of this program. Also, Windows
Media Player plays these files when I open them at their location on the hard
drive. However, now they will not activate from withing a PowerPoint 2007
presentation. They do however, work on my laptop computer which the
2003-2007 version installed.

Curiously, Midi files that were inserted in presentations created before
installing this new version of PowerPoint still work. However, I cannot add
any new ones successfully.

What is going on here?
