Opening New Windows

Could anyone help me out here.... it's not so much a big
problem as it is an annoyance. Internet Explorer has
recently been playing up and whenever i open a new window
to browse in it closes the older window so that i can
only have one window open at a time! This can get very
annoying when sifting through large numbers of pages! i
expect the solution to be relatively simple so any help
would be much appreciated, thank you..

IE>tools>internet options>advanced>scroll to 'reuse windows for launching
shortcuts' and remove the checkmark, apply/ok your way out.

Go to Tools | Internet Options | Advanced.
Uncheck "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts".
