Hello,

I am having trouble with my IE6. I usually open more
then one instance of IE6 and minimize and maximze between
the different sites I have open. But now whenever I try
and open a new instance of IE6 it removes my last IE6
window and goes to my homepage. How do I resolve this
problem?

Thanks,

Chris.

Instance has a specific technical meaning. An instance can have multiple windows. The program is loaded once but manages one or more windows. Multiple instances is multiple program loads with each running one or more windows. In a crash only the windows belonging to that instance disappear.

For example: I can't open IE6, then minimize, then click
on the IE6 icon on my desktop and have another IE6 open.
It will just get rid of my original IE6 that is open, and
make it so only one IE6 can be open at a time.

That setting works for launching shortcuts but has no effect on opening
another instance of IE.

He is launching shortcuts most likely else it wouldn't be opening in the same window.

Another way to approach this is for Chris to get Mozilla
(www.mozilla.org). Mozilla does tabbed browsing, which is really useful
and sounds like it will suit his browsing style perfectly.
