Opening Microsoft works documents

Students keep sending me documents in Microsoft works. I cannot open them.
How do I open a Microsoft works document if I have teachers edition of
Microsoft Office?

Well, if all katco's got is the Teacher's Edition of Office (I assume that
should be "Students and Teachers Edition") then he/she doesn't have Access
anyhow.

What sort of documents are these? You asked your question in a
newsgroup devoted to Microsoft Access, the database program, so we've
all been assuming that these are database or spreadsheet files. But if
they're Works word-processing documents, you can probably open them with
Microsoft Word. It would depend on the version of Works your students
are using, and also whether the Students and Teachers Edition of Office
includes all the format converters -- I don't know whether it does or
not. But if you drop down the "Files of type:" list in the File->Open
dialog, you should be able to select from various Works formats, if they
are supported.

Unfortunately, if these are Works database files, and you are trying to
open them in Access, you won't be able to.
