opening folder and install problems

whenever i open a folder, my computer slows up dramatically, and the mouse
becomes 'jerky'

also when i try and install a program, i get so far, then the window just
disappears...

i think i may have a virus.

can someone help me please

Have you done a virus scan? What anti-virus program are you using?

Whatever it is update it immediately and do a virus scan. Would be a
good idea to download ad-aware and do a spyware scan as well.
