opening excel files

When I try to open a file I have used many times before from My Documents
folder the file opens with a mnessage saying that there is a file of that
name already open and that I should close that file first but there is no
other file open, can anyone help. if I close the error box I can use Excel
normally

Do you see what Dave's doing? If you want to have "-- " with top
posting, that's the best way to do it.
