opening documents that are .xlsx

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Email Client: imap My collegue keeps sending me documents that end in .xlsx which i cannot open. is there anyway i can download a free programme that will allow me to do this?

Advice would be much appreciated.
