opening attachments in Windows Mail ( Vista)

I read about other users having difficulty opening attachments in Mail, I
have struggled also with this problem - I click on the attachment that tries
to open but a warning box from M/soft Works appears.. "Works was unable to
open the project you selected. The file may be corrupted"... I tested the
attach. with N/A/Virus programme and it was fine ! I have only had this Vista
systen installed 10 days and had taken "My Docs" onto disc from my previous
Windows 98SE system, installed fine on Vista "Documents" but I am having the
same Warning Box when I try to open any doc. file from "my docs" yet the pics
contained within open successfully .. i am 70 but quite literate but I am
losing direction.. anyone solved their "attachments" problem ? Hoping and
praying !!!

one that deals with Vista.
