Opening attachments from email in Outlook Express

In Outlook Express, when I try to open an attachment from
my email that I receive, it stays a blank screen and the
attachment never opens. Please send me instructions on
how to open up the attachments. Thank you in

Two issues, OE defaults to blocking access to attachments as
a virus protection, You can turn this off at your own risk
in Tools/Options/security tab, 4th box.
Second issue, you must have a program that is capable of
opening and displaying the contents of the attachment. That
will depend on what program created the attachment file and
what you have installed.
