Opening application in Vista

How do you get Vista to open application in full screen on startup?

Right click on the application's shortcut on your desktop or on the
icon in the quick launch area if you moved icons of your favorites
there. You normally will see a run option under the shortcut tab. From
there you can change to run in a full window from launch.
 
I just checked that and there is no "run option". Under properties there
does not seem to be a way to select full screen either.
