Opening an ODS file with Excel

I am trying to recieve a file from Open Office, however when the company
tiries to save the file as an Excel file an error box pops up asking for java
script. Is this problem on their end and why the file will not save as xls
file?

Yes, it is a problem on their end. If you have Office XP, 2003,
or 2007, then you can enable it to open native-format OpenOffice
files (.odt, .ods, etc.) by downloading and installing the
converter from http://odf-converter.sourceforge.net/ . As with
most file conversions, not quite everything converts perfectly,
so you should read the Known Issues page.
