Opening an excel file during the slide show

Hi All,

I am trying to open an excel file which I have embedded in my ppt. But I m
unable to open it during the slide show. When I click on the file icon, it
just moves to the next slide and never open the excel file.

Did you link to the file or really embed it?
If you linked to it and moved the presentation, it will not be able to find
the file to open.

What method did you use to embed the Excel file into the presentation? And
what version of PowerPoint are you using?

Hi Bill,

I was able to find the solution some how,

All I needed to do is as follow:
Slide Show --> Custom Animation. Select the object in the slide and select
from Add Effect --> Object Action --> Open.

Anyways, as per your doubts, here is what i did.
I had inserted the file in the following way:
Insert --> Object --> Create from file.

Version: MS Powerpoint 2003.
