I cannot open Docx documents I receive in e-mails. Is there a way to
convert the files to be readable?

First, don't open them directly from the email attachment; save them to the hard
drive first and work on them there. See
http://www.gmayor.com/outlook_attachments.htm for an explanation of why this is
important.

The second thing is that if you have Word 2003 or earlier, you need to download
the Compatibility Pack from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=941B3470-3AE9-4AEE-8F43-C6BB74CD1466
and install it to be able to read the Word 2007 format.
