Opening a Powerpoint attachment in Word document

When pasting a powerpoint attachment in a word document, having issues
opening the powerpoint file. It opens in what appears to be show mode,
rather than as a powerpoint file that can be edited.
If I first insert the attachment in an outlook file, copy and paste into the
word document, it will open as a file that can be edited.
Any suggestions?

Simple enough. Select the PPT show with a single click and right click
on the selected object and choose Presentation Object + Edit. Use the
scroll page at right of PPT page to get to the additional pages. Edit
to your hearts content and click outside the Presentation object and
you are back in Word with the PPT changes made.

Don't forget to save the Word document.

Looking for a way to just click on the icon have the file open in edit mode
without going thru the extra clicks.
Thanks for the response.
