opening a PDF in IE6

When I click on a link to a pdf on a web page, it tries to install Journal
Viewer. After clicking cancel about a dozen times it will finally open the
pdf in Acrobat as it should. I checked the file association for pdf and it
points to Acrobat. Has anyone else come across this? How did you fix it?
